TEETH WHITENING

In our office we utilize Zoom bleaching and bleaching gel placed in trays. Although the cost maybe slightly higher, the results are better and longer lasting.

There are a few different types of teeth whitening products:

  • Laser Teeth Whitening
  • Zoom Teeth Whitening
  • Over the Counter Gel Teeth Whitening Solutions

Laser Teeth Whitening

Teeth WhiteningThe professional teeth whitening process begins with a minor cleaning and removal of any plaque along the gum line. Once this has been accomplished, a peroxide based gel is applied to the teeth. This gel contains a professional strength formula that ensures the laser accomplishes the maximum possible amount of teeth whitening.

Next, a special light is used to activate the gel. The process usually takes about an hour, and whitens teeth by as many as 10 shades

Zoom Teeth Whitening

Zoom is a very simple procedure. After a brief cleaning, a peroxide-based gel is applied to the teeth. Following the application, ultraviolet and blue visible light is used to activate the gel, accelerating the laser process by penetrating the teeth.

The Zoom light is applied in three 15-20 minute intervals. You will see the results immediately. Understand that your teeth will be slightly drier after the treatment, and in the next few days, your natural saliva will reduce the whitening slightly. Your dentist will explain the Zoom process and what to expect in full.

Over the Counter Gels and Strips

Whitening gels are clear, peroxide-based gels applied with a small brush directly to the surface of your teeth. Instructions generally call for twice a day application for 14 days. Initial results are seen in a few days and final results are sustained for about four months.

Whitening strips are very thin, virtually invisible strips that are coated with a peroxide-based whitening gel. The strips are applied twice daily for 30 minutes for 14 days. Initial results are seen in a few days and final results are sustained for about four months.
